Being Hanuman
I am a soul. I can be whatever I want based on my present karma. I choose to be Mahavir Hanuman. How do I manifest that? Mahavir Hanuman has a lot of fans even now. It is a remembrance of souls like us who choose to follow a certain set of rules and disciplines for the thoughts, words, and actions to be his living example. Let us review Hanuman's qualities to be like him:
1. Shiv Bhakt
As we all know, he was a Shiv Bhakt. So we first need to know about Shiva. Who is Shiva?
Shiva is the Supreme Soul (Paramatma), a formless, incorporeal point of light, distinct from Lord Shiva (Shankar), who is the destroyer within the Hindu Trinity.
Shiva is not a human being but the highest soul, also known as God, who has no creator and resides in the Supreme Abode. He is the spiritual father to all souls, bringing them benefit and liberation. Shankar is a yogi who meditates upon Shiva with so much love that his consciousness becomes one with Shiva, the supreme soul. So, we call ShivaShankar, but they are actually different beings. Shankar is actually a child of Shiv, just as we souls all are.
Shiv Ji, most commonly known as God or Bhagwan, is the supreme father, mother, teacher, and guide of all human souls. We all remember Him only in our difficult times; it is built within us. In Hinduism, Shiv is worshipped as an oval-shaped stone called Shivlingam or Jyotirlingam, meaning "a symbol of Shiva" or "a symbol of light". Muslims revere an oval-shaped black stone called Sang-e-Aswad (holy stone), which is placed in the Kaaba in the Grand Mosque in Mecca. Jesus Christ (Christianity) has said and described God as 'light'. Mahatma Buddha started deep meditation and found a spiritual existence of God, beyond the cycle of birth and death. All religions point to the supreme soul in one way or the other way. God is a being of light. The Sanskrit meaning of 'Shiv' is 'one who is ever benevolent'. He is the one who brings benefit to everyone.
Now that we have understood who Shiv is, let us understand how to be a Shiv Bhakt. How can one, like Hanuman, be the highest quality Shiv bhakt?
Best quality Shiv Bhakt:
The best quality of a Shiv bhakt is that he/she has imbibed all the divine virtues of Shiva in him/her. He/She is full of all the divine virtues. His actions are full of divinity. He is a walking angel on earth. His words and actions are full of purity; his actions are to help others. His intellect makes the best decisions.
1. Surrender to God
2. Purity in thoughts, words, and actions: A pure being is not entangled in materialistic or worldly desires and persons. Regardless of the external situation, their eyes convey their sense of contentment and abundance. They limit their daily vocabulary to a few essential terms and avoid wasting time on meaningless chitchat. People experience the natural stage of soul-consciousness as well as happiness and peace around them because God's love and power are always present in their thoughts. They never call out one another's flaws or offer criticism. The other person's shortcomings never occupy their thoughts. Thus, they do not contain the sanskars of criticism. Their words are full of kindness and purity. They are full of love and motivation, and their words are neither wasteful nor ordinary, nor do they cause harm to others. Despite being fewer in number, their words are brimming with the love and power of God.
3. Very helpful; could not see anyone in pain
4. Unwavering faith in the Almighty God
5. No desire for name, fame, and recognition
6. Full of all divine virtues and powers
7. Karmayogi
8. Always joyful in any situation: Hanuman was a very intelligent person. He understood that each of us is a soul using our physical bodies to play out our roles in this worldly drama. Our sanskars define the type of actor we are. After we have settled our karmic accounts with other souls who are also acting in accordance with their sanskars, we transform our bodies and begin to play a different role. Happiness and sorrow are both recurring themes in the drama. He was aware of his true self and the nature of the ongoing drama. He was therefore able to maintain his positive, happy attitude with ease. This made his focus very sharp, and he could stay peaceful in any difficult situation, being a source of strength for the rest. Even Lord Rama found strength in his presence.
9. Gets along with everyone
10. Favorite child of God
The amalgamation of all the above virtues creates a complete Mahavir Hanuman.
