Politeness and egolessness

Image
All divine virtues bring individuals closer to God and guide the soul along a path to success. Those who embody these virtues will find happiness within themselves and bring joy to others. Conversely, negative traits distance a person from God, lead to downfall, torment the mind, and cause suffering to others. Among these detrimental traits, ego and body consciousness create significant obstacles to the full development of the soul. Of all the divine virtues, politeness and egolessness are particularly important as they aid in absorbing divine knowledge and help individuals climb the ladder of success without falling. Therefore, a wise person should prioritize cultivating politeness.   In our previous discussions, we explored how introversion and seriousness can be seen as treasures of divine virtues. We also recognized the importance of tolerance and patience in achieving substantial goals. Furthermore, we learned that gentleness, sweetness, and cheerfulness endear individuals to ...

The power of silence - Union of relationships and values between souls

Image
Silence is a potent form of presence and listening. Silence allows partners to connect on a deeper, intuitive level. It creates a sacred space where the noise of the world and internal chatter quietens down.  The power of silence within relationships is profound, acting as a fertile ground where genuine values and deep connections can flourish. In these moments of quietude, empathy grows, allowing us to reflect deeply on our partner’s experiences and emotions. This shared silence encourages us to step into their shoes, allowing us to better understand and resonate with their feelings. As we become more attuned to their needs, we can modify our actions and habits, ensuring we create an environment where they feel cherished and understood. Silence also serves as an icebreaker; it is the language of the soul. It fosters connections where words may fail. A warm look in the eyes of a stranger or a simple, loving gesture can go a long way in making a positive first impression, often lead...

The divine realm where everyone gathers with open hearts, sharing a bond of joy and warmth: Embracing The Transformative Power of Gentleness and Sweetness in Our Lives

Image
Imagine a man who, after getting bothered by relentless heatwaves, discovers relief and joy beneath the sturdy branches of a sprawling shady tree. This vivid scene illustrates a profound truth: those who nurture gentleness in their hearts radiate happiness not just within themselves but also on their faces. Such individuals share their inner joy, touching the lives of those around them with warmth and positivity.   On the other hand, think about someone who is having a lot of bad thoughts. We must be very kind and gentle with them when they are having a hard time. This creates a ripple effect of happiness, turning their sadness into joy and lifting our own spirits at the same time. Take, for instance, the scenario of a family. If a provider brings home wealth and material possessions but neglects to treat their loved ones with kindness and gentle words, a cloud of unhappiness will linger in that home. Similarly, imagine a doctor who administers the best medicine available but addre...

A lot depends on your speech

Image
The true nature of a person often shines through their words. Just as a man's essence is reflected in what he says, his gentleness will manifest in the kindness of his speech. Our words can elevate us to greatness or lead us to ruin, which is why the supreme soul, Shiv Baba urges us to embrace the sweetness of knowledge, much like a cuckoo sings its enchanting melody.   Today, we witness rampant corruption in our world, largely due to a deficiency in sweetness, gentleness, and love. In environments where these qualities thrive, cooperation and goodwill flourish naturally. Without this foundation, the allure of bribery, deceit, and negativity can take hold, leading to destructive behaviors like strikes and vandalism.  Many individuals today fail to recognize the bonds that unite us as a single, divine family. They become entangled in self-interest and lose sight of the truth: we are all souls interconnected through a higher purpose. When we remember our relationship with the Su...

The power of cheerfulness

Image
We have established in previous blogs that tolerance and patience are commendable divine virtues. However, cheerfulness stands out as a divine virtue that not only allows an individual to experience blissful happiness but also inspires selfless service to others. This makes cheerfulness a truly serviceable virtue.  Signs of a Cheerful Person A knowledgeable person may not articulate their wisdom, but those who encounter them can see the radiant smile on their face and recognize the joy they have cultivated through their inner remembrance. Even when the world feels chaotic, a person's heart can remain joyful. A true yogi does not exhibit signs of sadness, fatigue, or confusion; instead, they reflect constant inner joy and unity with God, similar to a blooming flower.  Being happy is a virtue that powerfully conveys a message from God, inviting everyone to embrace the treasures and knowledge of Shiv Baba. With the help of simple yoga practices, they can enhance their lives and f...

Gentleness, sweetness and charity

Image
Gentleness and sweetness are two divine virtues that bring peace to a person in all situations. Just as someone suffering from heatwaves finds relief in cold water—a single drop can be life-saving and soothing for someone experiencing extreme thirst—similarly, a person filled with gentleness and sweetness experiences inner peace. These virtues also radiate tranquility to those they serve.    Consider how, in a fire emergency, a water tank and a fire brigade are essential for providing relief. In the same way, gentleness and sweetness offer peace to those burdened by stress, worry, and loss. Like honey, which has an irresistible sweetness that draws people in for a taste, gentleness similarly attracts individuals, as they long to hear kind words that bring love and comfort.  Our supreme soul, Shiv Baba, encourages us to be loving, gentle, and united because sweetness fosters unity and love, which in turn create peace and happiness. In environments devoid of sweetness and g...

Happiness through remembering God

Image
The rate at which we embrace the divine virtues of God within us, through the power of knowledge and yoga, allows us to serve other souls with that same knowledge. This means we become the controllers of our inner world as well as the outer world.     We have received immense knowledge from Shiv Baba and benefit from Rajyoga meditation, which illuminates the wonderful life that we can lead. He blesses us with powerful affirmations, reminding us that we are a million times fortunate, the apple of His eye, and extremely dear to Him. He comes to grant us the kingdom of heaven, which is a source of great joy if we remember these truths.  In the world that God creates for us, there are no mental, physical, or spiritual ailments. We receive a disease-free body. While humanity faces untimely death in this Kaliyug, the deities leave their bodies effortlessly, as if shedding old garments; there is no pain for them. In this Kaliyugi world, we experience a lack of peace, with financ...

What are the things God tell us that make us happy?

Image
We are the children of the one God. The essence of Shiv Baba's teachings is to bring happiness to the soul. He has chosen us from millions in the world. We often find happiness in receiving something, while the happiness of those who do not receive fades away. Therefore, when we have received supreme happiness, our joy should remain high both day and night. The supreme father, the supreme soul, enhances our fortunes. He is recognized as the remover of obstacles, the guide through our life's journey, and the giver of happiness. Given the elevated status of one's father, teacher, and mentor, shouldn't we feel incredibly fortunate and joyful to have them? If someone has a father who is the king of a small city or town, they feel happiness from that. Now, consider the King of Kings, the creator of the fortunes of heavenly rulers. Anyone who is his child by faith should feel immensely joyful. When one has a highly capable teacher and mentor, they feel that they are becoming ...

How to be content and happy?

Image
To lead a life filled with contentment and happiness, we should aspire to be like a swan. In Hindu mythology, a swan is revered for its ability to separate milk from water, symbolising the discernment between positive and negative qualities. If we approach life with the mindset of a swan, focusing only on the positive traits of others while letting go of their negative aspects, we cultivate a more enriching existence.  Imagine if our ears were selective, listening only to enlightening conversations and disregarding negativity. When we function with wisdom like that of a swan—not like a crow or a heron—we nurture lasting contentment. Conversely, if we adopt undesirable traits from others or approach life with a negative attitude, much like a crow or a heron, our happiness can easily diminish. Therefore, we should see ourselves as royal yogis or majestic swans, dedicated to embracing the good in others. In doing so, we can ensure our happiness remains intact. It is a profound realiza...

Save your time and energy for best results and stability

Image
When our actions align with our thoughts, we significantly increase the likelihood of saving time and energy. This alignment not only brings stability to our surroundings but also allows us to extend our support to others more effectively. Once we've achieved our goals, we can turn our attention to helping others with their tasks, which in turn fosters a broader sense of stability in our community. It's important to recognize that physical presence isn't always required to make a difference. Sometimes, a kind thought or providing the exact support someone needs can empower them immensely. This creates a ripple effect of positivity and compassion, enabling us to uplift others and contribute to meaningful change in society. To optimise our time and energy for the tasks at hand, maintaining a focused mindset is crucial. Engaging in practices such as meditation, articulating our purpose, breaking tasks into manageable parts, accepting setbacks as part of the journey, and bein...

Finding Spiritual Strength Amidst Life's Challenges

Image
Life often presents us with situations designed to cultivate a sense of egolessness. While some ascetics choose to abandon their homes and families in search of deeper spiritual truth in the wilderness, the challenge for many of us lies in renouncing attachment while still living our daily lives. The situations we encounter are often opportunities to let go of our attachments; without them, our subtle connections to the material world may persist indefinitely.   The desires and expectations of our family and friends, along with their occasional selfishness and demands, can divert our minds from what is truly important. However, these challenges encourage us to redirect our focus toward our ever-pure, ever-blissful, ever-loving Supreme Father, the ultimate source of our strength and peace.  By facing these obstacles with patience and composure, and by cultivating our inner power through knowledge and yoga, we can draw strength from within and receive support from the Div...

Embracing challenges with full heart

Image
If we endure challenges or difficulties, we must recognise that each time we tolerate something, it's like adding another jewel to our crown of light. We should remind ourself that our account of negative karma is about to finish, after which we will journey to a land of everlasting peace and happiness. We tolerate these hardships out of our love for God, and our commitment to purity in our words and actions. Therefore, this suffering serves a greater purpose. A man learns many valuable lessons after experiencing setbacks. We should recognize that these situations serve as practical lessons for us. By enduring challenges, we cultivate the important virtue of tolerance. Through this process, we incorporate this divine quality into our character. These experiences help us detach from worldly attachments and maintain a sense of aloofness.
