Weapons of Knowledge and Yoga: Overcoming the Fear Created by Maya

Image
When a man is attacked and has no weapons, he naturally feels more fear. But if he holds weapons in his hands, his fear diminishes. In the same way, whenever we feel afraid in any situation, we should understand that we are lacking some inner weapon of knowledge or yoga. Either we do not have the weapon of faith, or we have the infallible weapons of knowledge and yoga but have locked them away like treasures in a trunk—they are not in our hands, meaning they are not active in our intellect at that moment. Or we do not yet know how to use these weapons. If we truly knew and applied them, then courage, bravery, and faith would naturally be visible in us. We would understand that, in whatever form Maya is attacking right now, God has already given us the necessary knowledge. The Supreme has already taught us the strategies of this spiritual battlefield—the various ways Maya can attack and the tactics it will use. With this understanding, we realize that we have been empowered with...

(Attached Guided Meditation)From Fear to Fearlessness Through Faith

Image
If you truly want to rise above these fears, remember that only God can guide you through them. We must hand over the rudder of our boat to Him—and then stop trying to steer it ourselves. We shouldn’t mix our limited intellect with His infinite wisdom, but instead surrender completely and fix our mind on Him alone. If you agree, then offer your stress and fear to Him. From that generous giver of blessings, receive the jewels of fearlessness and ease, and in His grace, become truly fearless. Guided Meditation Practice  (Let us start practicing meditation) Welcome to this guided meditation, focused on transforming your thoughts and nurturing positivity within. Trust, Surrender, and Fearlessness: Embracing Divine Guidance

Image
“I do not know what will happen now. What do I do?” This is simply letting your own mind create fear. What will happen? Whatever is destined will happen! Whatever is written will unfold. To keep worrying, “Hey Ramji, what will happen to me now?” is to fall into cowardice. Ram has already revealed that this Kaliyugi world is coming to an end and a Satyugi world will be established. If you cling to negativity, you will also be swept away. If you cultivate a pure and loving mind, you will become a partner in liberation and new life.   If Ram, or Parampita Shiv—the one who brings joy to the world—has made clear the state of the three times and has spoken openly of the future, then worrying “What will happen to me?” shows ignorance and forgetfulness. Ram’s purpose is to uplift me; if I do not strive to improve myself and instead complain, “Why hasn’t this happened? If only things were different,” then who is at fault? Ram removes obstacles and mends what is broken. Yet if ...

Overcoming Fear Through Divine Virtues

Image
The fifth kind of fear—fear of people—arises from a lack of divine virtues and soul power. In such cases, maya (weak thoughts) can attack us in this lifetime, especially when we lose our connection to the divine. When this connection is lost, difficulties such as disease, loss, disagreement, obstacles, and tiredness often follow. If we remain alert and steadfast, we will be protected; if not, our disturbed state of mind leaves us vulnerable to harm. Consider a circus act where a performer is targeted with thrown spears—if the performer moves even slightly, the risk of injury increases. Similarly, when someone acts out of vice and wrongs another, he becomes fearful and anxious, worried that the other person may retaliate. There are also those with a quarrelsome or deceitful nature, who may cause harm or misunderstanding without reason. This breeds fear in us—fear that such people or groups could hurt us. However, if a person possesses divine virtues and soul power, he believes, "...

Overcoming the Fear of Situations: Return to Your True Inner State

Image
The third type of fear is the fear of situations. This fear often arises from some form of addiction, attachment, or desire for specific outcomes. Additionally, it can stem from a lack of intellect, willpower, or decision-making ability. When a person becomes fearful after observing a situation and abandons their resolve, they encounter difficulties. The best approach is to first maintain the right state of mind. Just as following someone else's path can bring unhappiness and following one’s own path can bring happiness, constantly adapting to changing situations like a chameleon will only create trouble.   Instead, true happiness lies in maintaining one’s original state of peace, power, and positivity, as this inner stability is essential for facing life’s circumstances.   By remaining in your true state, you also gain the strength that comes from it. If you are not in control of yourself, how can you hope to control any situation? By correcting your own state ...

Freedom from fear: Faith, Purity and self realization

Image
If someone believes that there is no higher power, no Parmatma, guiding us with wisdom, then surely, they must at least accept the presence of a Mahatma—an enlightened soul. If not even that, then how is it that our lives naturally improve on their own? If you lack even this basic faith, why do you try to undermine ours? Is the responsibility for our actions yours or ours? Today, people struggle to take responsibility for their own lives and actions, as seen in the prevalence of disease, sadness, and vice. So how can anyone claim responsibility for the lives of others? Those who make such claims often have not perfected their own lives, so why should anyone trust that they can improve the lives of others? When we follow the guidance that brings us purity and peace, and we witness these improvements in our own lives, why should we abandon this path in favor of what others say? Do you truly understand the complex nature of actions and their consequences? If you have not experienced...

Freedom From the Fear of People

Image
The Fear of People and the Power of Faith The second type of fear is the fear of people . This fear arises from a deficiency in the power of belief . If a person has complete faith that we are moving under the guidance of God—who is the bestower of divine intellect, who is infallible, and whose Godly Maryadas are the highest code of conduct—then why would they care about social approval, criticism, or condemnation from others? If our only concern was to attain that One God , and now that we have found Him, what further need do we have for the acceptance of others? To begin doubting ourselves just because some people criticize and to think, “Perhaps I am a thief,” is simply a weakness of one’s own belief and determination. When one has attained the one Parmatma , what else remains to be gained, and what is left to fear? Remaining Carefree in God-Realization The fear of people and the fear of criticism can only be removed when a person remains carefree . This means that even after list...

Overcoming Fear Through Godly Power

Image
Fear dries the blood of a human being and gives a living person the experience of death. Tension is also like fire. So, how do we remove this type of fear and worry? All kinds of fear arise from a lack of power; when that power is completed, fear disappears and worry goes away. For example, there is the fear of leaving this body and the fear of death. For that, it is necessary to acquire the power of knowledge and become soul-conscious. A person should think on the basis of this Godly knowledge: "I have given my hands to the ever-powerful Param Pita Parmatma, and now my state is ever-rising. Now it is the beneficial Sangam Yug. Hence, whatever happens now, there is benefit for me in it. Even in this physical, obstacle-like state of the body, if I take the help and hand of Shiv Baba through the yoga of the intellect, then all responsibility for me lies with Shiv Baba. Then even if I die, He will plan something for my benefit. Because the one who follows and carries out His ...

Overcoming the roots of self doubt

Image
The fifth kind of fear arises from a lack of understanding or insufficient intellect. This fear is a constant presence in a person’s life and surfaces easily. When someone lacks intellect or self-confidence, they approach every action with anxiety, unsure whether the outcome will be positive or negative. There is a persistent worry about how others will judge these actions, whether with approval or disappointment. Thus, all the types of fear discussed stem from a deficiency in one or more essential powers—whether it be the power of knowledge, determination, yoga, mind, or divine character strength. The root cause of this deficiency is an inability to let go of bodily consciousness, fixed thoughts, attachments, and misplaced compassion. This weakness in sacrificing these attachments leads to significant stress and fear.

Overcoming the Fear of Other People

Image
The fourth type of fear stems from other human beings. Sometimes, people worry that someone might attack or harm them out of enmity. This fear arises largely from a lack of divine virtues.  If a person possesses divine virtues, fewer individuals will feel troubled by him.   Even if some become his enemies, his virtues can turn them into friends, and they may even be willing to sacrifice their lives for him. Ultimately, such a person trusts that with patience, cheerfulness, politeness, service, the power of yoga,   friendliness,   and similar qualities, he can eventually change the attitude of those who initially behaved poorly towards him.

Understanding the Types of Fear: Navigating Public Shame and Future Anxiety

Image
The next type of fear is the fear of public shame and the tension that comes with criticism. A person may worry, "What will people say about my work?" 🤔 This fear stems from a lack of spiritual strength, knowledge, eloquence, and self-belief. If someone believes that their actions are thoughtful and correct, and that they are ultimately for their own benefit, then they shouldn’t be overly concerned about others' opinions. When a person possesses the ability to articulate their thoughts, develop strategies, and engage in effective communication, they are better equipped to address any negative remarks they might receive. Consequently, a lack of confidence often arises from an inability to create solid strategies. Without this self-confidence and comprehensive knowledge, a person struggles to face others. This fear can lead to anxiety and agitation, as they feel overwhelmed by their perceived inadequacies. 😟   The third type of fear is related to specific situations and...

Freedom From Fear: The Power of Complete Renunciation

Image
Will a complete renouncer have any fear? No. One who has renounced everything, who has nothing of their own, and who politely and whole‑heartedly serves others spiritually and earns puṇya —what fear can such a person have? What are the fears that a human being faces? What are the different forms of fear, and what are the signs of a fearful person?   The fear of death and of suffering in the body   One form of fear is the fear of death. A person is afraid of dying and afraid that the body might suffer from some unbearable disease or pain, or from some terrible mishap. This fear can arise for one’s own body, and also for the bodies of friends and relatives. Suppose a man falls ill, and the doctor says that the disease is very serious and worrisome. As soon as he hears this, the patient’s hands and legs feel heavy, he starts sweating, he cries “Ohh No, Ohh No!” and says his heart is trembling—because the fear of death has gripped him.   When a very close friend of the...

The Power of Selfless Spiritual Service

Image
One should dedicate oneself to Godly service without any hesitation, because this service is truly an indestructible and inexhaustible form of income. When the intellect is focused on Godly service, the sacrifice of waste thoughts and many confusing alternatives becomes natural, easy, and lasting. Otherwise, when the intellect is left free and undirected, impure and negative thoughts quickly arise. Through this service, one naturally receives the good wishes and blessings of others, and these become a powerful means for spiritual progress. Service strengthens divine virtues such as humility, tolerance, simplicity, and generosity. By doing service, one experiences instant happiness, and through spiritual service in particular, one’s spiritual stage is continually elevated.   Therefore, service must be done tirelessly. The opportunity for such elevated spiritual service is obtained only once in a long cycle of time and by serving, they make their own future bright and elevat...

What Is There to Think About Generosity?

Image
Generosity Is of Many Types Generous people are of many kinds. Some do not think much before giving; they sacrifice instantly and naturally. Others take a long time to show generosity. Those who delay in giving come later into the Satyugi world of happiness and do not immediately attain the highest level of joy at the beginning of Satyug. Some people keep thinking, questioning, and hesitating whenever it comes to generosity and sacrifice. Others adopt a beautiful principle: “What is there to think in doing a good deed, and why be late in doing good work?” By cultivating such a habit, they show generosity without breaking their renunciation through doubts and excuses. Such souls experience steady, continuous, immense happiness in a world of peace and joy. There are also some who appear generous outwardly, but their hearts are not pure, and their sacrifice is not truly for public welfare. Such souls, in Tretayug, receive a kingdom that may look grand from the outside, but it does...

How Generosity Turns Sacrifice into Fortune

Image
By default, generosity is a great virtue. Sacrifice can only be made by a big-hearted, generous person. Just as big-hearted and generous people donate money, in the same way, the sacrifice of thoughts and choices, body and mind, and everything else is always done by a generous person. A stingy person’s resources benefit neither himself nor others. Similarly, a person who is not generous wastes his body, mind, and money. By not offering them in charity, in public welfare, or in service to God, he does not put them to work to create a great future for himself. Therefore, one can truly adopt the great virtue of sacrifice only when one imbibes the virtue of generosity. For such noble renunciation, one needs boundless generosity. The more generous a person becomes, the larger his heart becomes for sacrifice, and the greater his destiny becomes. Hence, the special quality of generosity is that it is a virtue that creates great fortune. If generosity is complete, then destiny will be compl...

The signs of an ultimate sacrifice

Image
In this way, one who becomes an ultimate sacrificer rises above all limitations and sacrifices. The people of Bhakti Marg, when giving anjali to their predecessors, etc., say, “for the benefit of all souls.” But the whole life of an ultimate sacrificer will be for all souls. He will be ever ready for alaukik sewa because his body is not only for him. Hence, the word “no” will never be spoken from his mouth for alaukik sewa, and whenever any work, whether gross or subtle, is allotted, he will eagerly say “yes” to it, considering it a sign of fortune being created. He will be ready to sacrifice his comfort for the happiness of others and ever ready to forget all obstacles. In this way, by knowing the form of sacrifice and the signs of a true sacrificer, this is the time to sacrifice truly and, with a big heart, to become an invaluable helper in Godly work. To make this sacrifice successful, stable, and powerful, one must be big-hearted and always ready for Godly service.  After liste...

Sacrifice Through Godly Knowledge: The Key to Unlimited Attainment

Image
When our actions are based on true Godly knowledge, the eight kinds of spiritual sacrifice become natural and easy. But if the knowledge is not truly Godly, or if there is no firm determination in that knowledge, then real sacrifice cannot happen. And where there is no sacrifice, there can be no true gain.   That is why a person must honestly check their own mind: Do I have complete faith in this Godly knowledge? If there is even a small weakness in determination, there will be weakness in sacrifice, in effort, and in the results we receive.   Therefore, at the very beginning, the foundation of determination must be made strong. When determination is firm: The intellect becomes broad, clear, and powerful. The mind becomes humble and willing. Sacrifice no longer feels like a burden or a loss. In such a state, the intellect explains to the mind: this so‑called “sacrifice” is not a real loss at all. Across the ages and cycles of time, it is a method of receiving back tho...
