Overcoming Fear Through Godly Power

Fear dries the blood of a human being and gives a living person the experience of death. Tension is also like fire. So, how do we remove this type of fear and worry?

All kinds of fear arise from a lack of power; when that power is completed, fear disappears and worry goes away. For example, there is the fear of leaving this body and the fear of death. For that, it is necessary to acquire the power of knowledge and become soul-conscious. A person should think on the basis of this Godly knowledge:

"I have given my hands to the ever-powerful Param Pita Parmatma, and now my state is ever-rising. Now it is the beneficial Sangam Yug. Hence, whatever happens now, there is benefit for me in it. Even in this physical, obstacle-like state of the body, if I take the help and hand of Shiv Baba through the yoga of the intellect, then all responsibility for me lies with Shiv Baba. Then even if I die, He will plan something for my benefit. Because the one who follows and carries out His teachings till the end, who remains with Him through mind and intellect, and takes only His help—such a dear soul, God carries along with Himself till the end and keeps giving help. He does not leave that one in the middle of a crisis.

Therefore, once we have dedicated ourselves to Him, there is our kalyan (upliftment) in everything—kalyan while living, and no misery even after death. A person must remain carefree by generating this thought, and through Godly remembrance keep taking power for the powerless.

Otherwise, after forgetting Him and worrying about the body, there will be the state of body-consciousness. With body-consciousness comes attachment to the body, and a person who has attachment to the body, and addiction born out of the monster of fear, carries the sanskars of addiction and fear with himself into the next birth. Either he will die because of addiction and lust, or by taking a subtle form of this body, he will become like a monster.

Therefore, under all circumstances, by stabilizing oneself in the remembrance of God, seeing one’s future as bright, and having firm faith in one’s own welfare, there is benefit. By understanding this, by going beyond body-consciousness, and by realizing one’s ever-rising spiritual stage, the monster of fear will run away.
