Trust, Surrender, and Fearlessness: Embracing Divine Guidance
“I do not know what will happen now. What do I do?” This is simply letting your own mind create fear. What will happen? Whatever is destined will happen! Whatever is written will unfold. To keep worrying, “Hey Ramji, what will happen to me now?” is to fall into cowardice. Ram has already revealed that this Kaliyugi world is coming to an end and a Satyugi world will be established. If you cling to negativity, you will also be swept away. If you cultivate a pure and loving mind, you will become a partner in liberation and new life.
If Ram, or Parampita Shiv—the one who brings joy to the world—has made clear the state of the three times and has spoken openly of the future, then worrying “What will happen to me?” shows ignorance and forgetfulness. Ram’s purpose is to uplift me; if I do not strive to improve myself and instead complain, “Why hasn’t this happened? If only things were different,” then who is at fault? Ram removes obstacles and mends what is broken. Yet if we turn away from his help and rely on fear instead of his strength, if we oppose his guidance and get trapped by Maya, then ask, “What should I do now?”—this is like inviting disaster upon ourselves.
To sit idly, abandoning knowledge, focus, yoga, and virtues, is like forgetting the first and second chapters of the Gita, just as Arjun once dropped his bow. What is right action and what is not? ParamPita Parmatma has given us this understanding. My responsibility is to absorb this wisdom and put it into practice. Ram will help me, but I must be courageous and do my part. Even after calling out to Ramji, the consequences of our past actions will not vanish overnight. However, if we obey Parampita, stay in his remembrance, and face challenges with a steady mind, difficulties will pass easily—like a hair slipping through butter, their impact will be minimal. But if we have not truly surrendered to Ram, have not given him our burdens, or have not accepted the responsibilities entrusted to us, how can we expect his full support? If we have truly handed our lives to him, what is there to fear? To fear is to doubt him and to take back responsibility from his hands.
If you have not yet surrendered your life to him, do so now—but follow his guidance fully, letting go of your need to control every detail. If you are following his direction, or are prepared to, what is there to fear? The boat placed in Ram’s hands may rock in the storms created by our past actions, but it will not sink.
However, if our mind wavers and instead of concentrating on Ram, is tossed about by fear, then our life—like a boat—may capsize. You have surely noticed that when passengers panic and rush around in a boat, it often overturns. Thus, even if you fear your boat might flip or sink, let that fear go. Fear itself increases the possibility of disaster. And even if you are not afraid of the boat sinking, but only of the storms, remember: these storms come because of your own karmas.
