Body consciousness vs. Soul Consciousness

Yes, if a person, after giving up the ego of the mind, studies this Godly knowledge with discipline and surrenders the attachment and the reins of the intellect to Parampita Parmatma Shiv, then they receive all positive virtues. Just as a kite can be controlled only when its string is held firmly in the hand, in the same way, the soul whose string of intellect is in the hands of Parmatma can be safely guided in the strong storms of Maya and kept straight. Otherwise, it wanders here and there and finally breaks.

Therefore, in order to make all kinds of sacrifices filled with joy, the first sacrifice must be that of the “I, I” consciousness. One must, with great importance, consider oneself a student, renounce the habit of overestimating one’s own knowledge, and develop a loving intellect toward Parampita Shiv Parmatma. Otherwise, it is certain that such a person will be destroyed by negative and opposite feelings.

A person who has sacrificed the pride of the mind can be guided easily. But one who considers himself complete and all-knowing will say at every step, “Oh, I know everything! You have come to teach me? I have taught many like you!” It is very difficult to bring about any reform in someone who is filled with the ego of the intellect, because such a person is truly an “educated fool.” He does not act according to his own words, even though he claims to know everything, and his behavior is so harsh and arrogant that others hesitate to speak to him. Such an egoistic person becomes irritated very quickly whenever any discussion about his own defects is raised.

Thus, the ego of the mind is such a harmful thing that it does not allow a person to understand anything. It must therefore be buried so deeply within that it can never rise up again or float back to the surface of the mind. This egoistic and wavering intellect creates fear of death. It has made human beings like monkeys. Then why should we hesitate to sacrifice this ‘monkey nature’?

The ego of the intellect has made our inner chord crooked like that of a camel; it has also made our backbone, our neck, and even our legs crooked. In this way, it has spoiled our entire way of speaking and our whole demeanour. Even now, if we do not renounce this crookedness of nature, we will not be able to go to heaven, because there are no such ‘camels’ in heaven!

Now my intellect will support only the One God, and I will move only according to His highest opinion and divine guidance. Now, I will definitely not act according to my own mind and the ego of my intellect, but I will sacrifice this ego. But how can I sacrifice body-consciousness—the memory of bodily relationships in the mind—and the addiction to sense objects? How can I sacrifice attachment to the senses and body-consciousness?
