Virtue collection, love and merciful

In the past few days, we have learnt about the need to imbibe divine virtues. The qualities of those who imbibe divine virtues shed light on the ways to imbibe those virtues, which Shiv Baba has given us from time to time to make us an “idol of virtues” and transform a “man into a deity”. There are many other types of divine virtues that we should imbibe in our practical lives.

The more virtues a person has, the closer he is to God, the more divine he becomes, and the more happiness he experiences; this is the rule. But to imbibe all divine virtues and to renounce all wasteful ones, the main quality required in a person is “the appreciation of merit”. The special feature of appreciating merit is that it prepares the ground for gathering all divine virtues.

Just as, no matter how good a seed is, if it is sown in land that has not been properly prepared, and no matter how good the irrigation may be, the seed will not bear fruit; in the same way, without imbibing the virtue of collecting virtues, the ground of the heart is not prepared for sowing good values and achieving true success through them. Until a person has the virtue of noticing others’ good qualities and does not have the habit of constantly bringing their weaknesses to mind, he remains deprived of truly imbibing virtues, even after hearing many spiritual talks about them.

Therefore, every effort-maker should firmly decide that wherever there is a virtue, and in whomsoever that virtue is found, I must take it. At the same time, I must remove the mud of demerits from within myself.
